rehab tourAdapting to life with little or no vision can be a daunting challenge. Fear and uncertainty can be overwhelming. Even a lifelong home can suddenly become foreign and perilous. In blindness or visual impairment, much of what a sighted person takes for granted needs to be relearned in a completely new way.

Karla S. McCaney
President & Chief Executive Officer

Karla brings 25 years of leadership experience and is focused on translating these skills to ASB.  Karla received her Bachelors of Arts in Biochemistry from Immaculata University and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration at Temple University.  Karla joins us from Cooper University Health Care where she served as Assistant Vice President responsible for hospital-based support services functions. Karla became familiar with ASB during her position with Wills Eye Hospital.  Her 17 years at Wills Eye gave her a strong frame of reference to understand the importance of ASB, to the population it serves, and to the region.  Her vast professional experience including Cooper University Hospital, Wills Eye Hospital and Pennsylvania Hospital, has established her abilities to succeed within her new role as ASB’s President & CEO.
